Festive Shopping from Bank View Farm
Bank View Farm is a great location to explore both the Peak District and Sheffield.
Christmas Markets
Sheffield and the Peak District are wonderful places to visit in the run up to Christmas, there are lots of Christmas markets and excellent present buying opportunities. I’ve just visited the excellent Whirlow Hall Farm Christmas Fayre, their Lambing and Cow Barns were packed with many stalls and I enjoyed drinking mulled wine and listening to carols sung by a local choir. I stocked up on some festive goodies all in support of this excellent Sheffield charity.
Meadowhall at Christmas
We are lucky to have Meadowhall Shopping centre which from mid-November extends its opening times until 10pm most evenings so there’s no excuse not to find time to get the Christmas shopping done. They also have a range of Christmas workshops such as present wrapping and soap making to give your feet a rest.
Sheffield Markets
Sheffield City centre hosts a wonderful Christmas Markets from mid November to Christmas Eve., This year it has 50 cabins, a Santas Grotto, Big Wheel, an Alpine Bar and a traditional German Sausage grill, it looks particularly pretty after dark with all the twinkling lights.
Chatsworth @ Christmas
Chatsworth Christmas Market is only 15 minutes’ drive from the farm and is now an essential part of my Christmas preparations. I go with my sister and we are able to buy lots of unusual presents and drink warming hot chocolate with brandy. After the market it’s time to visit Chatsworth House all dressed for Christmas. There are truly stunning decorations which change every year and are guaranteed to put us in a festive mood.
